Rene Russo was born in Burbank California. She was the daughter of Shirley (Balocca) a barmaid as well as factory worker as well as Nino Russo. The father of the family, a sculptor as well as a mechanic, left the family when Rene was two years old and so her mother was able to raise Rene as well as her sister Toni as a single mom. Her father, an Italian of Italian-German-English-Irish descent was her mother. Rene's scoliosis became so serious that she had to wear an entire torso-brace at the time she was in Junior High School. Jolly Green Giant was her nickname among her peers due to her size. The brace she wore was removed as she entered Burroughs High School, and although her classmate Ron Howard joined her there also, Rene was a bit of a snob. Rene was forced to get out of school when she reached the tenth year. In the following 18 months, she took many part-time job opportunities for earning money. As a waitress at a movie theater, she was able to watch free films. She also worked at places where food was served at no cost. And she worked in Disneyland in the cashier position whose tickets are not charged. She was sometimes employed at two different jobs. Her last position she was able to do to earn money was working full time at an eyeglasses factory inspecting contact lenses.
